Barracuda Networks is known for cybersecurity, networking and storage solutions within the cloud. As such, it comes as no surprise that one of their latest endeavors is bringing new upgrades and improvements to their Azure firewalls. Not only is the move expected to strengthen network protection on behalf of customers, but officials with both Microsoft Azure and Barracuda Networks are hoping that the enhanced security will draw new customers to the cloud.
Using New Tools to Cater to an Evolving Market
Everybody in the world of IT knows that it’s a rapidly advancing market. This requires developers like Barracuda Systems to release software updates and enhancements at a consistent pace. As such, Barracuda recently upgraded the Barracuda Web Application Firewall, or WAF, to provide full integration with Microsoft Operations Management Service (OMS). The WAF also benefits from improved automation in both deployment and delivery.
Barracuda’s NextGen Firewall now features full compatibility with SD-WAN, thereby strengthening security and optimizing connectivity with cloud servers. All of these features have already been rolled out to the public and are currently available to users of Barracuda and Microsoft Azure.
Tim Jefferson, Vice President of Cloud with Barracuda, spoke about the recent developments by saying: “Barracuda continues to help customers secure their cloud workloads. The integrations with Microsoft OMS and API-based automation make it easier for customers to integrate security controls into their cloud native applications. We are constantly innovating to bring more options to our customers for their cloud deployments, and look forward to our customers benefiting from enhanced access and increased automation for their Azure environments.”
Recruiting Help From a Third Source
While the partnership between Barracuda and Microsoft is enough to draw attention from across the globe, they’re not alone in their recent endeavor. They’ve also enlisted the help of the team at Puppet Technology. Specializing in automation and deployment and optimization, the trifecta has a lot to offer a cloud market that is struggling to reach mainstream consumers.
Tim Zonca, Vice President of Alliances and Business Development with Puppet, spoke enthusiastically about their new partnership by saying: “We look forward to working with Barracuda on a new technology integration to enable orchestration and automation in the cloud. As a company focused on helping organizations deploy better software, faster, the integration with the Barracuda WAF allows our mutual customers to effectively integrate application security and delivery into their DevOps strategies.”
Protecting Online Networks Now and in the Future
With Barracuda already stepping up their game to secure next-gen cloud platforms like Azure, it’s anybody’s guess as to what the future holds.
Ryan McGee, Director of Security Product Marketing with Microsoft, echoed this statement by saying: “Barracuda continues to help customers secure their cloud workloads.
