The Nextbit Robin smartphone, which features Android under the hood, is a midrange device that released in early 2016. While they don't exaclty have the benefit of an established industry presence or a well-known brand, Nextbit's introductory model is still able to compete with the major players of the industry. This is due, at least in part, to an innovative feature known as Smart Storage.

What is Smart Storage?

One of the primary selling points of the Nextbit Robin was the claim that the smartphone is capable of achieving storage capacities above and beyond that of comparable models. This works with all apps, including games, and users can even protect individual apps from the archival process. Finally, system files will never be archived into the cloud. To this extent, you'll never have to worry about losing the core functionality of your phone.

Perhaps the best part of all is the fact that Nextbit is even providing all of their Robin customers 100 GB of free cloud storage. This should be plenty enough cloud-based storage for personal use and, in some cases, enough storage to archive your business-related data.

Using Smart Storage

Taking advantage of the functionality of the Nextbit Robin's Smart Storage is rather straightforward and easy. In fact, Smart Storage will connect to the cloud as soon as your log into your normal Google account. You'll be required to give the app permission to access your phone's data, of course, but this is really all you need to do in order to get up and running with Smart Storage. The software will operate and moderate itself.

If you do want to play around with the options of Smart Storage, simply select Smart Storage from your phone's Settings menu. From there, access the menu by clicking its button in the upper right corner of the screen and choose Options. Now simply select Smart Storage Settings to enable or disable the various features of the program. All features will be enabled by default.
