SanDisk Unveils Brand New Connect Wireless Stick

As the team with SanDisk is known for pushing the boundaries of today’s technologies, it should come as no surprise that their newest device, the Connect Wireless Stick, is meant to bridge the gap between mobile and desktop computing. The device, which is available in various capacities, is SanDisk’s attempt to make the process of transferring files between a PC and a smartphone just a little bit easier and much less annoying.

But that’s not the only way SanDisk’s new Connect Wireless Stick can be used. In fact, the device can even be used as a solution to add more storage capacity to your phone. Instead of storing media on the phone itself, users can simply carry the small and compact Connect Wireless Stick with them. Moreover, the device can even be attached to a lanyard and worn around the neck.

Dinesh Bahal, vice president of product marketing with SanDisk, spoke about today’s mobile-centric culture by saying: “We live in an era where we are truly living a mobile lifestyle. We use our devices to capture life’s moments, and work in a way that was never before possible – all of which has created the need for a new generation of mobile storage. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is designed to give people a simple, intuitive way to save and access all of the great content they create and consume across multiple devices, without breaking the bank.”

What really sets apart the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick apart from other, comparable devices is the fact that it doesn’t require an active Wi-Fi network with your phone in order to work. As long as your smartphone is close enough to the Connect Wireless Stick, the pair should work just about anywhere.

Installing and setting up the device is a highly simplified and straightforward process. Android, iOS and Kindle devices will need to download and install the SanDisk Connect app, but all you have to do from that point is to enter your device’s Wi-Fi settings and set it to connect directly to the device.

Once the app has been installed and your device connected, you are free to stream media, including video or music files, from the device to your smartphone or tablet. Moreover, the SanDisk Connect app even includes a bevy of other useful features, including the ability to automatically archive the pictures and videos from your smartphone’s camera. The current battery featured inside the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is currently rated for about 4.5 hours of streaming use. It can be recharged at any time simply by plugging it into a USB port.

At the time of this writing, SanDisk is currently offering their Connect Wireless Stick in capacities of 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB. The exact price depends on the specific model, though pricing currently falls between $29.99 and $99.99. The SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick is available in stores now, while the SanDisk Connect app is available through the Google Play Store, the App Store and the Amazon Appstore for Android.
