VeloCloud Seeing Early Success

When it comes to the modern cloud computing race, the game is dominated by names like Amazon, Microsoft and Google. One company, VeloCloud, is hoping to make their presence known by achieving record sales in 2016.

The company, which provides SD-WAN cloud services, has effectively boosted their customer base by to a total of 50,000 deployments; including the two biggest SD-WAN applications to date. VeloCloud also increased their own staff by 50 percent during a highly productive year. These enhancements came, at least in part, as a result of nearly $30 million in Series C funding that was procured at the beginning of 2016. Top investors in the recent round included March Capital Partners and Cisco Investments.

For those who aren't familiar with the software-defined WAN, or SD-WAN, it's a platform that is meant to facilitate WAN access across enormous physical distances. Although there aren't many service providers who even offer this kind of connectivity, VeloCloud is certainly at the head of their niche. VeloCloud even offers a number of online whitepapers and resources, available at their site, to help their customers gain a better understanding of the exact services and solutions they provide.

Sanjay Uppal, CEO and co-founder of VeloCloud, spoke about some of the achievements his company has made thus far. He said: "The success that VeloCloud has experienced with large enterprises and services providers demonstrates that our unique cloud-delivered architectural approach to SD-WAN is leading the market in innovation, cloud, scale, and multi-tenancy. VeloCloud customers worldwide continue to choose VeloCloud for secure, reliable and high performance network-wide connectivity to cloud, on-premises and site-to-site applications globally over both private and public transport."

According to the website, VeloCloud fulfills four distinct IT requirements. This includes a high level of performance reliability, an integrated cloud network, access to complementary virtual services and full automation and orchestration. Not only do these features offer increased flexibility and efficiency across the board, but the zero-touch automation functionality streamlines the process of initiating new network deployments.

The team with VeloCloud has been hard at work securing new partnerships and deals in all corners of the market. They've recently penned contracts with Sprint, AT&T, Mitel, Vonage, EarthLink, MetTel, NetOne and many more. They were even named a 2016 SDN Product of the Year by TMC. Their latest accomplishments have them poised to make even bigger waves and headlines in 2017 and beyond.

Mike Fitz, vice president with Sprint Global Wireline Business Unit, spoke about the ease-of-use of VeloCloud by saying: "After a thorough vendor evaluation process, Sprint determined that the VeloCloud solution best aligned with Sprint's focus on network agility, flexibility and cloud services enablement."

Interested parties who want to test drive VeloCloud and experience the software without having to make a commitment can get started on a free trial by going to their official website and requesting a free evaluation of their platform.
