EMC's Elastic Cloud Storage has been gaining popularity amongst enterprise IT officials as of late, and for good reason. A software-defined object storage platform that features cloud scalability, low costs and accessibility, EMC's Elastic Cloud Storage, or ECS, is quickly becoming the industry standard. To this extent, it should come as no surprise that Verint Systems and their Workforce Optimization suite has recently attained interoperability with EMC's ECS platform.

Verint Workforce Optimization, or WFO, falls under Verint's Customer Engagement Optimization umbrella of services and solutions. Manuvir Das, senior vice president of the advanced software division as well as the emerging technology with EMC, complemented Stern's sentiments by saying: "In today’s third-platform world, unstructured data is taking over, meaning that customers need solutions not only to wrangle, but also to optimize their object data. The interoperability of EMC Elastic Cloud Storage with Verint Workforce Optimization will help us further extend our reach globally and provide more organizations with industry-leading technologies and streamlined solutions."

What is the Elastic Cloud?

Generally speaking, the concept of an elastic cloud can be applied to nearly all of the cloud computing environments that are in use today. The term itself really just refers to a cloud-based service that is able to scale storage capacity based on the wishes and needs of the their individual customers. However, there are a number of things that make EMC's Elastic Cloud Storage platform a little bit different than the others.
